Silent movies hold a very admirable place in filmmaking history. Its nice to see someone was able to capture the essence of that era with this modern replica that is conceptually and physically genius. Nevertheless, Artist is a delightfully different movie .A silent film shot in black and white ,that respects the cinematic intelligence of today's movie goers .Visual storytelling at it's best. Jean Dujardin [what an unbelievably expressive face the man has] and Berenice Bejo are brilliant as the two central leads, and the importance the background score plays cannot be emphasised enough.
it made you feel & learn to listen without words , the dog stole the whole movie - I loved the dog , the man as well , the girl was funny too - 7.5. out of 10 : )
I love the dog during the whole film & the woman was a interesting character , the man was a bit too happy when his life was changing around him - reality kick him the buttox - made him aware of himself & his life. 7.5 out of 10.
well my kind of films are action,adventure,sci fi,horror,i like charlie Chaplin i think he was cool for his time,so just on that basis i give it a go to see what all the fuss was about, it did reel me in made me lafe made me think! about 57minits and found my self thinking bout other things got a little boring for me then but i thought it may only be a boring bit for 5 mints so i carried on it reeled me back in,and yeah to make a black and white movie these days and do well deserves something, this was mostly a silent movie too so yeah how it was done made thought out to keep us 2012 lot interested yep very very clever not everyone's cup of tea but is really clever and who ever wrote it made it the actors in fact every one involved deserves some Oscar or something very clever very brave and to make a silent 99% black an white movie in 2012 and for it to work ok bravo well done cool wish i could do that.
Not much to say...I think everyone below me as pretty much said it all. The movie speaks for it's self... Very well done, I really enjoyed it and great upload. 4/5
Probably a movie not for everyone but I really enjoyed it. A great throwback to the olden days of black and white flicks, intelligently done. Vidreel top quality
great copy and streaming on vidreel was pretty smooth with only a couple of hiccups. this is a movie for old hollywood movie fans so if you're not into old black & whites you're probably going to fidget during this. otherwise, you'll enjoy this homage to the silent movie era :-)
In the age of one-liners and special effects, this nearly flawless motion picture stands alone. The utterly enchanting performances by this perfectly cast ensemble effortlessly illuminate the film's authenticity. And how about some love for that painstakingly ubiquitous soundtrack!
not for everyone, but certainly enjoyable and easy hearted if u into a good story, bit of theatre, authentic period clothes and prop, and can care less about crazy shootouts or explosions, then this one is for you. Enjoy everyone... I did
